About Adana - Osmaniye - Kahramanmaraş Connection

Rising from the fertile plains of Çukurova to the imposing slopes of the Taurus Mountains and stretching towards Kahramanmaraş, this three-day route reveals the hidden historical and cultural riches of the Mediterranean region. Built on important caravan routes that connected the east and west throughout history, this itinerary boasts rich content ranging from massive stone bridges to ancient Hittite cities and magnificent castles.

Your journey begins with the Varda Köprüsü, one of Adana's most iconic structures, connecting two sides of a precipice. After this engineering marvel in the middle of the Taurus Mountains, you take a short break immersed in nature at the Adana Seyhan Baraj Gölü Yaban Hayatı Geliştirme Sahası. Returning to the city center, you visit the Adana Arkeoloji Müzesi, which showcases the region's history spanning thousands of years, and end the day by examining the magnificent architecture of the six-minaret Sabancı Merkez Camii, one of the largest places of worship in the Middle East. On the second day, you turn your route to the neighboring province of Osmaniye to directly trace the footsteps of the Hittites. While breathing the fresh air of the Karatepe - Aslantaş Milli Parkı located within pine forests, you admire the late Hittite reliefs and lion statues at the adjacent Karatepe Aslantaş Müzesi. Without leaving this historical atmosphere, you take a walk among the ruins of Kastabala Örenyeri, notable for its grand colonnaded street and ancient theater.

On the third day, you cross over to Kahramanmaraş, a city known for its epic tales of heroism. You can enjoy a bird's-eye view of the city from the walls of Kahramanmaraş Kalesi, which is situated on a commanding hill and dates back to ancient times. Afterward, you spend time at the Kahramanmaraş Müzesi, where priceless mosaics and archaeological artifacts unearthed from the region are exhibited. The final stop of the tour, where history meets nature, is the Döngel Mağarası, a highly impressive geological formation. By visiting this cool cave with cascading waters, you peacefully conclude this adventure where history and nature intertwine.
