About Amasra and Sinop Western Black Sea Coastal Route

Behind the steep cliffs battered by the wild waves of the Black Sea, an unparalleled coastal adventure awaits, extending to peaceful port towns where the purest forms of green and blue embrace. Spanning the provinces of Bartın, Kastamonu, and Sinop, this five-day itinerary is tailored for those wishing to discover nature's grandeur and centuries of maritime culture. The adventure's first step is taken in the charming town that Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror deeply admired. The historical echoes resounding in the narrow streets of Amasra Kalesi blend with the finest woodworking at Çekiciler Çarşısı. After examining the ancient relics at Amasra Müzesi, visitors can relax in the tranquil atmosphere of Balamba.

The second day begins with the breathtaking view of Güzelcehisar Lav Sütunları, vividly displaying the region's geological richness. Following this ancient natural wonder, the mysterious Kraliçe Amastris Deniz Havuzu is visited. On the continuing journey, Hacı Denizi and Kuşna Koyu, resembling a hidden paradise with their virgin nature, offer a unique refuge for those seeking the sea's calmest moments. The third day delves into the depths of Küre Dağları, the highlight of the route. While the sheer scale of Valla Kanyonu makes one dizzy, the massive cliff view watched from Catak Kanyonu Cam Teras pushes adrenaline to the peaks. This day concludes at Kastamonu Azdavay Kartdağ Yaban Hayatı Geliştirme Sahası with its untouched forest flora.

The fourth day continues on the serene shores with Yeşilyuva and Hacıveli Plajı, notable for its endless sandy beach. The ruins of the region's ancient port city, Aeginetes Antik Yerleşimi, whisper history among the gentle waves. The final day reaches Sinop, the historic port city at the northernmost tip of Turkey. Following Sinop Müzesi, the famous Sinop Tarihi Cezaevi, known for its dark past, provides a chilling experience. Located on the coast, Paşa Tabyası resists the cool winds of the Black Sea, concluding this long and fulfilling coastal route with an impressive example of defensive architecture.
