About Gaziantep - Sanliurfa Flavor and History Route

Coming to life in the mystical atmosphere of Southeastern Anatolia, this unique three-day corridor route melts the region's two cultural capitals in a single pot. Bringing together the legendary cuisines and ancient pasts of Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa, this adventure offers a true feast for both your soul and your palate. Although compressed into just three days, you will witness a historical adventure extending from the dawn of civilizations to the present day. Throughout your trip, you will dive into the depths of the past accompanied by the flavors of kebabs and baklavas.

Your journey begins in Gaziantep, where flavor and history intertwine. You will teleport to the Roman period in the fascinating atmosphere of the Zeugma Mozaik Müzesi, which hosts one of the largest mosaic collections in the world. Afterwards, you will observe the city from the Gaziantep Kalesi and discover traditional handicrafts amidst the sounds of hammers in the Tarihi Gaziantep Bakırcılar Çarşısı. At the end of the day, wandering among the majestic ruins of the Rumkale Örenyeri defying the waters of the Euphrates River, you will feel the perfect harmony of landscape and history. You will relieve the exhaustion of this day with the city's famous pistachio baklava.

On the second day, the melancholic yet fascinating beauty of Halfeti, famous for its submerged historical structures, will welcome you. After seeing the submerged mosque minarets, you will transition to Şanlıurfa, the land of legends. Right after visiting the imposing Şanlıurfa Kalesi, you will rest in the spiritual peace of the Balıklıgöl complex, which hosts the legend of Abraham. On your third day, you will examine the Göbeklitepe Örenyeri, one of the world's oldest known cult structures that rewrote human history. You will deepen the city's archaeological heritage at the Şanlıurfa Müzesi and the Haleplibahçe Mozaik Müzesi, and conclude your tour with memories at the Harran Örenyeri, famous for its conical dome houses.
