Centered around İzmir, the pearl of the Aegean, this three day corridor tour is a wonderful opportunity for those who want to discover ancient settlements and natural life parks hidden right next to metropolitan life. On the first day, you will feel the lively atmosphere of ancient Smyrna by wandering through the ruins of Agora Örenyeri, located in the heart of the city center and shedding light on the commercial life of the period. Then, you will visit the massive Atatürk Maskı monument decorating the silhouette of İzmir and enjoy the view of the gulf. You will complete the cultural leg of the day with a visit to İzmir Arkeoloji Müzesi, which houses highly valuable finds from ancient times to the present day, and learn the deep history of the Aegean coasts.
On the second day, you will turn your route to historical textures and green areas in different parts of the city. After taking a short break next to Tarihi Bostanlı Çeşmesi, which reflects the aesthetics of the past in the Karşıyaka region, you will sit on the steps of the magnificent Smyrna Tiyatrosu built on the slopes and visualize the art performances of the ancient period in your mind. Later, by moving on to the Yeşilova Höyüğü excavation site, considered one of the oldest settlements in the region, you will witness İzmir's roots dating back eight thousand years. After tracing history, you will enter the borders of Örnekköy Tabiat Parkı to get away from the crowd of the city and refresh yourself with nature walks accompanied by pine trees.
On the third day, both nature and archaeology intertwine on your route extending towards the western shores of the gulf. You will start the day by photographing the graceful flights of flamingos in the wetlands of İzmir Kuş Cenneti and Gediz Deltası, which host hundreds of bird species. This massive natural life park is of great importance for the ecological balance of the region. Following the morning spent among bird sounds, you will examine the ruins of Klazomenai Örenyeri, one of the most important centers of olive oil production in the ancient period, and see one of the oldest known olive oil workshops in the world. At the end of the day, you will conclude this peaceful route alone with history under the shade of centuries-old olive trees within the borders of Teos Örenyeri, known as the ancient city of artists.
