About Manisa Route of Princes

In a fascinating geography where history and nature embrace, an intensive two-day discovery program unearths the hidden riches of Manisa. Offering a wide historical spectrum from the mountain cities of antiquity to historic paths walked by Ottoman princes and the memories of the National Struggle period, this special route provides the opportunity to experience our cultural heritage. Transforming into a green feast with the awakening of nature in spring and offering a cool trip away from the scorching summer heat, this route is a unique alternative for travelers interested in Anatolian history and nature lovers seeking tranquility away from tiring city life.

We start the first day of our historical discovery visiting the magnificent Aigai Örenyeri, an important center of antiquity built on a rocky mountain peak. We wander among the silent ruins of this inaccessible city, witnessing the splendor of the past. Following this view of nature, we visit Kuva-yi Milliye ve Cumhuriyet Anıtı to pay homage to the heroic epics of our recent history. We then embark on a cultural journey in the halls of Manisa Müzesi, where precious finds from regional excavations are exhibited. At the end of this intensive day, we turn to the legendary Spil Dağı, overlooking the city and hosting enormous biodiversity, throwing off our fatigue accompanied by fresh mountain air.

On the second day of this fulfilling Manisa adventure, we respectfully visit the areas dedicated to Aydın Kaynak and Erdoğan Kaynakçı, names that became symbols of local culture, trying to understand the experiences of the local people. We then take a pleasant break among the ruins of the historical Alaşehir Örenyeri, considered an important religious center of antiquity and fascinating with its structures. In the final part of the day, we move to Sardes Antik Kenti, the capital of the legendary Lydian kingdom known as the place where money was minted for the first time. We crown this cultural tour with memories among the columns of the massive Artemis temple.
